Top Destination Wedding Spots For 2019

By Carolyn Stine February 19, 2019

We pulled together seven of the best, new, and unique places to get married in 2019.

Destination proposal, destination honeymoon, destination… wedding? We’ve heard that good things happen in threes, and we think that your wedding events should be no exception. Whether you’re looking to get away somewhere exotic or simply think outside the box and visit a place that’s been on your “must see” list for years, a destination wedding is a great way to keep the wedding size small and the main event anything but ordinary. We rounded up some of the most incredibly beautiful, quirky, and unique wedding venues across the globe for your 2019 destination wedding.

Riviera Nayarit, Mexico

There’s nothing to say but si to this awe-inspiring Mexican hacienda just twenty minutes outside of the charming Sayulita. The property can hold 100 friends and family members for your main event, and 11 can stay at the hacienda as well (with two neighboring estates housing an additional 14 folks). Their in-house cantina has a full commercial kitchen for whipping up a caliente taco dinner, and the central pool bedecked with twinkle lights is absolutely breathtaking.

Joshua Tree, California

For a more rugged, desert-loving couple, we recommend heading out west to The Desert Lily. Right at the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, this is both a full-service B&B and has individual houses that can be rented out on property. The outdoor area is full of art installations and incredible landscaping (cactus a-plenty), and there’s nothing like a desert sunset as you say your “I Dos.”

Vizcaya Gardens, Florida

Did you know that the most elaborate gardens in the United States exist in sunny Florida? And not only elaborate gardens, but an estate that is a Miami-fied version of Versailles? Enter: Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Whether you’re looking for indoor, outdoor, or a combination of both, this elaborate venue will be the site of some of the most incredible wedding vistas you’ve ever seen, including that blue Miami water.

Bordeaux, France

Let’s be serious - who isn’t a Francophile these days? Between the wine, the cheese, and the incredible countryside, there’s nothing not to love about the beautiful Bordeaux. We love the idea of booking this chateau for a long weekend and turning it into a mini vacation for your guests (54 of which can stay on property). There are acres of hiking trails, a heated swimming pool, and multiple tennis courts, in addition to the incredible main building. Tres bien!

Maine Islands

If small, intimate, and seafaring is what you’re hoping for, we recommend that you go out of the box a bit with us right here. You can charter the Schooner Olad and set sail from Camden Harbor with up to 22 of your loved ones, holding a personal ceremony right on the water off the Maine coast. Afterwards, stop off at Warren Island for a lobster bake on the beach, complete with s’mores for dessert, before sailing home at sunset.

Anguilla, BVI

For a taste of the islands on your big day, look no further than Zemi Beach House in Anguilla. This island oasis boasts white sand beaches perfect for a wedding ceremony, and an incredible poolfront (and oceanfront) area that is made for dancing the night away. It also doesn’t hurt that the food is incredible, and the spa is one of the island’s best.

Calistoga, California

If all you want is to travel back in time to summer camp, you can make that vision a reality at Triple S Ranch in Calistoga. The property has a main house and cabins that can house 50 people, so you can have your closest ones stay on-site as you dance the night away (or make late night s’mores by the firepit). Amenities such as a pool, hot tub, Argentine grill, and outdoor pizza oven make a multi-day stay fun for all, and we love the bunk beds in the cabins that make us feel like a kid again.

Did you have a destination wedding? If so, where was it?
