A Breakfast For Dinner Party? We Think Yes.

By Carolyn Stine October 3, 2018

Show up in PJs, eat breakfast, and drink mimosas with your friends - what could be better than that?!

You know those days. The days you spend in your sweats, either not leaving the apartment, or going out but not bothering to put “adult” clothes on. We don’t know about you, but we love and cherish those days, and wearing our PJs makes pretty much any activity that much better. So when we were dreaming up our next ladies night, our minds wandered to “well what if we could all wear out pajamas?”... and from there, the breakfast in bed party was born!

Not only is breakfast something we just never get sick of, but we already make it for dinner on the reg. So get your girls together, tell them to wear their comfiest PJs, and get ready for your new favorite girls night

What: You’re invited to a ladies-only breakfast in bed party!

When: Wednesday evening, post-work

Attire: Your most fabulous, comfy, cozy pajamas (slippers are welcome)

Bring: A bottle of champagne, or your favorite bloody mary topping

What to serve:

For the menu, we’re taking inspiration from both sweet and savory breakfast favorites. They key is make-ahead - you don’t want to be slaving over the stove flipping individual pancakes, or made-to-order eggs. You want to be mingling with your friends! So we designed a menu that can be made in advance, and is easy to scale based on the number of ladies you invite.

Coconut Yogurt with Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Granola

Literally this granola is like crack. Adult, sweet, chocolatey CRACK. It’s divine on top of coconut yogurt, and you can also lay out some extra toppings if guests want to spice up their bowls (we like ground cinnamon and an extra sprinkle of mini chocolate chips).

Roasted Veggie Frittata

We love frittatas like woah - not only is it an easy, one-pot entree, but you can literally throw in anything that you have in your kitchen. Just pop it in the oven for a few minutes, and it’s ready for your guests! This one has roasted root veggies and gruyere and it’s heaven.

Maple Roasted Bacon

Bacon. We love to eat, but we don’t love to make it. Cleaning up the splatters after making bacon on the stove is on of life’s least thrilling tasks. The fix? Make it in the oven! And coated with maple syrup to boot (trust us).

Breakfast Potatoes

You say, tomato. We say, breakfast potato. This updated take on hash browns is a real people pleaser, and you can recycle your leftovers the next day on top of a salad, alongside some roasted salmon, or throw an egg on it and make a mini hash!

Roasted Berries

Is it just us, or is anyone else over the conventional fruit salad? We adore this take on the usual fruit salad, and the bonus here is that it can also be used as a topping for your coconut yogurt and granola.

What to Drink:

Because this is an evening affair, champagne is definitely in order at this breakfast in bed party. Grab some freshly squeezed OJ for mimosas, and if you’re really feeling fancy, pull out the creme de cassis to make some kir royales. Bonus points if you drink them out of teacups.

We also like having a savory option, and bloody maries are the ultimate crowd-pleaser. It’s all about the toppings here, and you can go wild making a little DIY bloody bar. Don’t forget the hot sauce, olives, and a variety of pickled items (we’ve been loving these pickled tomatillos lately!).

What are your favorite breakfast recipes? Have you hosted something like this before? We'd love to hear your thoughts.
