We’ve all had the privilege of being there. In the bridal suite, on the big day. Hair and makeup being done up. Girls sipping champagne. And alongside all of that joy and excitement... a lackluster spread of bagels and cream cheese. We all need something to nosh on to give us energy and calm the jitters leading up to the main event, so we reimagined the bridal suite food as a feast of options, with a few DIY elements thrown in so no girl goes hangry on the big day.
Avocado Toast Bar
We’re calling it: avocado toast is here to stay. Not only is it hearty, healthy, and filling, but it can be eaten at any time of the day. Have a big old bowl of avocados, a few toast options (we love Ezekiel sprouted bread), and a plethora of toppings so all of the girls can make their own. We recommend a few veggies (cherry tomatoes, radishes), a few toppings (cilantro, lime wedges, hemp hearts), and a few drizzles (sriracha, Mike’s Hot Honey). Don’t forget the sea salt!
Vegetarians rejoice! A well-stocked crudites and dips selection can be noshed on throughout the day, and gives everyone the flexibility to make their own plate. Dips like hummus, tzatziki, guacamole, and baba ganoush provide a solid base for champagne consumption, and we love a mix of all in-season veggies and crackers (like these super seed variety) to round it out.
Trail Mix Bar
We don’t know about you, but we are nuts for DIY trail mix of any kind. Dress up a table with little baggies and twisty ties, and let your ladies craft their own mix, however healthy or indulgent their hearts desire. Key ingredient groups are nuts (cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds), dried fruit (apricots, cherries, apple rings), and sweets (cacao nibs, m&ms, sweetened shredded coconut).
Breakfast Sandwich Bar
The best thing about a breakfast sandwich? It can be anything you want it to be! Have your venue lay out scrambled eggs, bacon, sliced tomato, avocado, and some English muffins to toast, along with your hot sauce and sliced cheeses of choice. Make it a plate if you have gluten-free girls, and vegetarians can skip the bacon. It’s a win for all in the bridal suite!
Acai Bowl Bar
We all love a morning smoothie to get us on the right foot for the day, but we deemed having a blender set-up to be a bit too intensive for the bridal suite. The solve? A make your own acai bowl bar. We love these acai packs, which you can throw in a cooler and have the girls help themselves too. And we all know that the best part is the toppings - almond butter, bananas, chia seeds, you name it
Nori Wrap Bar
If you want something sandwich-esque, go for a more inventive and enticing option: nori wraps! Nori sheets + toppings = flavorful wraps and hand rolls that are easy to eat on the fly while you get your hair done. Any and all raw or cooked veggies work, and we love unexpected extras like mango, tahini, and even some edamame. Don’t forget the soy sauce and wasabi for dipping!
